On December 07, 2022 AEDB Celebrated the project completion ceremony of 100MW solar PV power project of Zhenfa Pakistan New Energy Company (Private) Limited (ZPNECPL) in District Layyah, Punjab in presence of Honorable Federal Minister for Ministry of Energy (Power Division) Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan and CEO AEDB Mr. Shahjahan Mirza.
At this occasion while inaugurating the ceremony, Honorable Federal Minister for Ministry of Energy (Power Division) Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan said that this is a big step towards Government of Pakistan’s commitment of increasing the renewable energy share in power generation by adding clean and green energy into the system. Further the induction of lower tariff solar projects will help in reducing the overall cost of generation.
ZPNECPL acquired Letter of Intent (LOI) from Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB) for development of 100MW Solar PV power project in District Layyah, Punjab. The project company acquired Tariff from NERPA in February 2020 for its 100MW project. The 100MW project of ZPNECPL is placed under Category-II of the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE) decisions. AEDB and PPDB issued the Tripartite Letter of Support (TLOS) to ZPNECPL on 3 September 2020 for its 100MW solar PV project. ZPNECPL has executed the Energy Purchase Agreement (EPA) with CPPA-G on 29 January 2021 with CPPA-G.
ZPNECPL has put up 229,885 PV modules of 435 Wp each having cumulative capacity of 100 MW, the modules are producing 188,427,600 kWh of clean electricity per annum. The levelized tariff for the project is US Cents 3.72/kWh.
